Book Cover 1

This is my new cover for The Secret Life of Bees. I know that an important part of the book was when the character sees the bees escape from the jar that they were in, so I decided to put the cover as only that.

PHOTOFUNIAAAAAA!!

I liked photofunia.com, it is really simple to use and they have many options that you can use! They offer a lot of different types of ways that you can put your photo that you have uploaded, super easy to use. Compared to photoshop it is so much easier to use. All you have to do is choose the format that you want your photo to be in and then click and upload your photo. Then the site will do the rest for you!! I think that photofunia is mostly targeted to people who are interested in photoshop but are not really quite ready for all the tools that come with it.

LIFE cover...worst

http://www.life.com/gallery/66721/lifes-20-worst-covers?iid=news|relatedgalleries#index/1

This is probably one of LIFE Magazines worst covers. With the ghosts flying, it is just kinda creepy. It could scare some of the readers, and maybe make them not want to know what it really is about.

LIFE cover...best

This is the picture that I felt was one of LIFE Magazines best cover. I like the style that it is taken in, how close the camera is.

Ad #2

We had to create a second ad for this project. I decided to do an ad about graduation at the end of the year, since i'm so excited :). I think that this is simple but good, the simplicity makes it easy to look at but at the same time you get all the information that you need. The next time that I would do this I would probably use some more neutral colors!

Ad

This is my ad  for a home field hockey game! I wanted Olivia Hajek to stand out so that people would see her the most. So I desaturated everything else and then added the color back to her jersey and the ground so that the main attention was her and the words. I really like this a lot and think that it is good haha :)

Colorwheel2

This is my second color wheel. I like this one more because the flowers look as if they are falling and are also pretty! :) My inspiration for this one was the spring time and all the flowers that come out

ColorWheel

For my color wheel project I took a picture of a water bottle and colored it different colors. My inspiration for this was the weather outside and how hot it has been. Making sure to stay hydrated is very important!

Business Card

This is the business card that I created, I feel like I was able to incorporate many of my favorite projects that I have done this year. I like seeing them all together!

AVATAR

This is my avatar, one side is good and the other is bad. The good side is a super hero, like Wonder woman. While the bad side is always stirring up trouble just like the tornado in the background. :)

Art Thingy

I like this piece of art because I feel like it is simple but it is also complex at the same time. The other one that I really liked was one called "Pile of Demon Heads", it was my favorite.

Music and Nature

For this project you had to merge music and nature together. I chose to merge acoustic music with the wood from a tree. The acoustic guitar is made of wood so I felt that it would work well. After I was done with that I wanted to add more, so I tried to make it seem almost like it was a guitar, I don't know how well that ended up turning out, but I'm happy with it. My inspiration for this was how much acoustic/ bluegrass music that my family listens to, so I feel like it also in a way represents a part of me. I liked this project because you were able to express yourself personality to some extent and also be creative with it.

MIDTERM! :))

This is my midterm! We had to create something by using at least 24 "boxes" with different images. For my theme I decided to do an under the sea theme. Because I really miss the summer, and sea animals make me think of the ocean, which makes me think of the summer, and I love it!

Kaleidoscopes :)

We had to create a kaleidoscope for this assignment. I used a picture of a flower and a sunflower and transformed them into about 6-8 pieces each and transformed each one to make it able to fit with the next one. This project was kind of difficult just because it was hard to fit all the "slices" perfectly together so that they look good. Even though it was hard I still really liked the project a lot.

9 Tiles..Self Portrait

This project was about creating a 9 tiled self-portrait with one or two pictures. No two pictures looking alike, but still having unity. I enjoyed this project a lot. And the frame that i chose was a turf field hockey field and field hockey sticks, because field hockey is a big part of my life and I love it! :)

In this project we were assigned to create one images in four different ways. I really liked this project because you could be as creative and abstract as you wanted! I liked doing this type of project a lot :)

Visual Puns!

This project was all about visual puns, and it was fun to try and experiment with different tools in photoshop, though at the same time it was also pretty difficult. This visual pun is Toothpick :)

Marla Abstract

For this assignment we watched a movie called "My Kid Could Paint That", which is about a 4 year old artist who painted these great abstract paintings. My inspiration for this assignment was how nice of a day it  was outside when I was given this assignment. The sun is shinning and it is just beautiful outside, and every once in awhile there is a cool breeze, there just to remind you that it is not quite spring yet.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

My inspiration for this project was Chacko, because he is my favorite person in the whole wide world! For the poem i really liked how simple and light-hearted it was. I feel like it actually captures what sea horses are all about, just simple and peaceful.

Crazy Combos

In this assignment we had to take 8 images and create on big image using them to create different crazy combos. Amygrace and I knew that we wanted to have a circus background. So we took different images that could possibly be in the circus and put them all together. Our inspiration was our wonderful friend Becca Marconi who even helped us pick out some of our pictures. I think that this picture worked out really well, I like the fact that we feathered the different images together so that they looked more like they belonged together than just sticking them one on top of another.

The 15 Green Things

For this assignment we got an image with 15 green things, and we had to create our own picture of it using all 15 images. We were allowed to duplicate, cut out part of the images, and re-color them if we wanted to. For this I tried to change as many of the pictures as I could, my inspiration for this was a city that I saw while my family and I were visiting Mexico over winter break. I think that this is okay, but if I were to change part of it, I would probably find out a better way to fit the car into the picture.

Music.

For this assignment we had to take an image, and by using the different parts of it we were supposed to create our own original image. I did this by moving all the different parts of the picture around and trying to re-size them, and make them look as little like the original that I could. My inspiration for this was my pal Jason. I think that this is a pretty good job, because this was my first real project that I have had to in photoshop.
